Briefly... Steve Covelo is in his first season with LMU baseball...

High School... a 2008 graduate of Mullen High School in Denver, Colo... a three-year varsity starter for coach Vince Porecco... served as team captain in his senior year... garnered All-Conference recognition after his senior campaign...pitched 43.1 innings and posted a 6-1 record, 54 strikeouts and a 2.39 ERA in his final season of high school... also competed in football... recruited by San Diego, Northern Colorado, Pepperdine and Santa Clara, but chose LMU because of the education, location and atmosphere...

Personal... Steven James Covelo was born September 16, 1989 in Santa Ana, Calif... son of Laurie and Paul Covelo... father also attended Loyola Marymount... has one brother, Kevin... a marketing major.
