Briefly...
Nathan Durham-Hammer enters his second year at LMU...surprised the coaches with his development in the outfield...has good arm strength...finds a way to be in the right place to catch many fly balls and line drives... another solid base runner with good instincts for the Lions...working hard to improve his knowledge of the game...has become stronger in weight room...a very good defensive player that will see playing time in right field.

Made nine appearances last season...finished 4-for-11 with a .364 batting average...had an RBI on four singles...added a sacrifice fly against Portland (3/30/01)...started against Long Beach State (4/3/01)...had a hit in one at-bat against Gonzaga (5/11/01) at the end of the season.

He graduated from Bishop O[apos]Dowd High School in Oakland, CA in 2000 with a 3.5 grade point average...earned letters in three sports in his four-year career...was a four-year letterwinner in baseball, earning captain honors his final year in school...led the team with 11 home runs and 49 RBI his senior year, earning all-area, all-conference and all-league honors...he won all-area and all-conference honors his freshman season...playing in multiple areas of the field, including third base and his traditional position of center field...coach was Joel Kaufman... was a three-year letterwinner in soccer, earning all-conference and all-league honors his sophomore and junior seasons...played football as a sophomore.
