Biography

2026 SEASON (LMU) Transfer student joining the Lions for the 2026 season.

2024-25 SEASONS (LOS ANGELES VALLEY COLLEGE) 
Attended Los Angeles Valley College from 2023-2025, earning an Associate of Arts degree in Economics. Played shortstop, third base, and outfield under Head Coaches Dave Mallas and William Skett in the CCCAA/WSC. Served as team captain as a sophomore and was named All-League/Conference. Posted a .354 batting average with a .463 on-base percentage, .466 slugging percentage, and .929 OPS. Selected to the SoCal JC Sophomore Classic All-Star Game. Made the 2024-2025 Dean's List.

2022-23 SEASON (POINT LOMA NAZARENE) 
Attended Point Loma Nazarene University in 2022-2023. Played third base under Head Coach Justin James.

HIGH SCHOOL 
Graduated from Crespi Carmelite High School in May 2022. Played third base and second base for four years under Head Coach Mike Glendenning in the Mission League. Earned a varsity letter as a sophomore and served as team captain as a senior. Named All-League/Conference as a junior and senior. In his senior season, posted a .371 batting average with a .442 on-base percentage, .410 slugging percentage, and .853 OPS with 26 hits in 70 at-bats and 10 RBIs in 25 games. Posted a career batting line of .379 average, .464 on-base percentage, .439 slugging percentage, and .904 OPS. Named Second Team All-Mission League, hitting a season-best .418 batting average. Played club baseball with SOCAL Giants and GBG Navy in 2022.

PERSONAL 
Lucas was born in Santa Monica, California and grew up in Sherman Oaks, California. He intends to major in Economics. Parents are Sara Gabay and Ezra Gabay, who competed in basketball, baseball, and track and field at Santa Monica College. Has one sister, Sophia.

WHY LMU? 
"LMU has been my dream school since I first started exploring colleges in high school. After attending two other schools for baseball, I'm grateful my path ultimately led me here."
