Biography

2025 SEASON (LMU)
Casale, a two-way player, spent the 2025 season contributing primarily out of the bullpen for the Lions, as an injury prevented him from hitting. He appeared in 20 games and logged 26 innings, striking out 30 batters while allowing 35 hits and finishing with an 8.65 ERA. Casale delivered several standout outings, including a scoreless inning at UC Santa Barbara and a strong one-inning performance at Pepperdine with two strikeouts. One of his most impactful appearances came against San Diego in the WCC Tournament, when he pitched four innings in relief, recording three strikeouts and helping keep LMU in the winner’s bracket. Known for his composure in high-pressure situations, Casale provided valuable innings throughout the season and remained a key contributor to the pitching staff despite his hitting setback.

HIGH SCHOOL
Casale attended Brophy College Prep, competing in the 6A Premier League under head coach Josh Garcia. He played four years of varsity baseball, earning letters as a sophomore, junior, and senior, and received All-League honors in his junior and senior seasons, as well as First Team All-State recognition in his senior year. During his final high school season, Casale excelled both on the mound and at the plate, recording a 1.72 ERA over 58.2 innings and batting .365 with seven doubles. He was also recognized as a finalist for Arizona Player of the Year and was named MVP of the 6A All-Star Game.

CLUB BASEBALL
Casale competed for several club teams, including Swarm Red Elite (2013–2024), White Sox Scout Team (2023–2024), and Utah Marshalls in the 2024 collegiate summer league. With the Marshalls, he hit .362 with 49 hits, 18 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases, finishing second in league hits. While with Swarm Red Elite, he posted a .410 batting average, 11 doubles, and 31 stolen bases, while also recording 27.1 innings pitched with a 0.78 ERA and a 47–9 strikeout-to-walk ratio. His club accolades include Perfect Game MVP at the 2023 Southwest Summer Kickoff and 11 Perfect Game All-Tournament Team selections.

PERSONAL
Johnny is the son of Alicia Marie Casale and John Richard Casale and has a brother, Noah. He has contributed to his community through service with Feed My Starving Children and volunteering at Saint Vincent De Paul. Academically, he has been recognized in the National Honor Society.

WHY LMU?
Casale chose Loyola Marymount University for its combination of strong academics, a competitive baseball program, and an exceptional campus environment. He was drawn to the coaching staff’s approach and felt he could continue to grow as a player within the program.
