Biography
2025 SEASON (LMU)
Jacob Fried appeared in four games for the Lions in 2025, recording 1.2 innings pitched with two strikeouts. He allowed four runs on four hits while walking four batters, finishing the season with a 16.20 ERA. Fried made appearances against UC Santa Barbara, Pacific, Southern California, and UC Santa Barbara, contributing in relief situations and showing flashes of his pitching potential.
2024 SEASON (R-JUNIOR, LMU)
Fried pitched in three games during the 2024 season, totaling 0.2 innings. He allowed just one hit with no runs or earned runs, walking two batters and striking out one, finishing the season with a 0.00 ERA. His appearances came against Michigan, Dartmouth, and UC Irvine.

2022 SEASON (SOPHOMORE, LMU)
Fried pitched in four games, totaling 4.0 innings, allowing 10 runs (9 earned) on 11 hits with four strikeouts and two walks, finishing with a 20.25 ERA. He faced teams including UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Fullerton, CSUN, and UCLA.
2021 SEASON (FRESHMAN, LMU)
Made two appearances as a freshman, striking out three batters in 2.0 innings pitched.
HIGH SCHOOL
Fried graduated from University Prep Academy in Washington in 2020. A four-year varsity baseball letterwinner under head coach Rex Carlin, he also ran cross country. Recognized as the 45th-ranked player in the state by PBR, Fried earned ECL Rookie of the Year in 2017 and led his team to its first state appearance in 13 years in 2018. In 2019, he helped his team capture its first State Championship in school history, earning the win as the starting pitcher in the championship game. His honors include First Team All-League, All-State, and selection to the PNW Baseball Elite Scout Team. Notably, he pitched a perfect game in 2019.
PERSONAL
Jacob Harrison Fried is a business entrepreneurship major. He is the son of two former collegiate athletes—his mother swam at Dartmouth and his father competed in equestrian—and has one brother, Sean.

Fried chose Loyola Marymount University for its location, strong honors program, and the school’s track record of developing pitchers.
