Transfer pitcher from Bethany Lutheran College in Minnesota who joined the Lions for his senior season. Brings elite swing-and-miss ability to the LMU staff after ranking among the nation’s best in strikeouts per nine innings throughout his collegiate career.

PRIOR TO LMU

Bethany Lutheran College – 2024 (Junior)
Ranked 10th nationally in strikeouts per nine innings with a 13.7 K/9 mark. Served as a team captain and earned All-Conference honors for the second straight season, anchoring the Vikings’ staff with consistent strikeout production.

Bethany Lutheran College – 2023 (Sophomore)
Led the nation in strikeouts per nine innings at 15.1 K/9 and was named the NCAA Statistical Champion for the category. Earned All-Conference recognition and emerged as one of the premier strikeout arms in Division III while holding a key role in the starting rotation.

Bethany Lutheran College – 2022 (Freshman)
Opened his collegiate career competing in the UMAC under head coach Ryan Kragh. Developed from a freshman contributor into a high-leverage arm during his three seasons with the program.

Jackson County Central High School
Three-sport athlete in baseball, basketball, and football. On the mound, earned All-Conference honors as both a junior and senior while also playing center field and first base. Helped lead the basketball team to a Big South Conference title in 2020 and earned Offensive MVP honors. Also lettered in football as a sophomore.

PERSONAL
Gavin is from Jackson, Minnesota. His father, Blaise, played collegiate baseball from 1996–2001. He has three siblings: Harper, Grayson, and Jasaya.

WHY LMU?
Chose LMU to push himself outside his comfort zone, experience life in Los Angeles, and join a coaching staff he connected with immediately. Saw LMU as an opportunity to grow academically and athletically while escaping the cold Minnesota winters.
