Earned his first career save against Portland (3-15-02)...pitched three innings, striking out two, with no walks and just one hit in the Lions 12-5 win...finished season with 14.2 innings pitched and a 9.82 ERA.

His freshman season saw him appear in eight games for the Lions...pitched 14.1 innings and allowed 15 hits...finished with a 6.28 ERA, allowing 17 earned runs, 17 walks and striking out 23...opponents hit .268 against the RHP...all appearances were in relief...did not pitch in Regionals.

He is a 1999 graduate of Hawthorne High School in Hawthorne, CA...a four-year letterwinner in baseball...captained his sophomore and senior squads...an All-Ocean League pick as a senior prep...pitched, played first base and the outfield during his career for coach Jeff Hines...was pitcher of the year in 1999 season.
