Mitch Holland joined the LMU coaching staff in the summer of 2022.
Prior to joining the Lions, Holland served as a volunteer assistant at UC Irvine. There, he oversaw catchers and assisted with the hitters. The Anteaters won the Big West Conference in 2021 and were runners-up at the Stanford Regional in the same year. This was his second stint with the Anteaters, serving as a graduate assistant for the 2017 season.
Before his time with UC Irvine, he served as a the recruiting coordinator for Saddleback Community College. He has also spent time in the summer league coaching ranks, managing the Rochester Ridgemen, members of the New York Collegiate Baseball League. The team was a collective of college players from across the country.
Holland played for Saddleback Community College, where he was awarded the 2014 Saddleback College Male Scholar Athlete of the Year Award before transferring to UC Irvine. There, he captained the Anteaters for two seasons while also receiving back-to-back All-Big West selections in 2015 and 2016. Holland put up phenomenal numbers on both sides of the ball, hitting .300 and fielding .996 in his final season.
Holland goes beyond the diamond too, teaching economics at JSerra Catholic High School in San Juan Capistrano in 2018.
Holland earned a bachelors of science in political science from UC Irvine in 2016 before completing a masters of business administration in 2018 from Grand Canyon University.
He currently resides in San Clemente.
