Biography

2026 SEASON (LMU)
Left-handed pitcher joining the Lions for the 2026 season.

HIGH SCHOOL
Four-year baseball athlete at Valley Christian High School in the AIA/3A Conference under head coach Vince Lagatta. Played as a left-handed pitcher, outfielder, and first baseman, earning varsity letters all four years and serving as team captain as a senior. Named All-League/Conference as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. Junior season highlights include 53 strikeouts on the mound. Helped lead Valley Christian to back-to-back Arizona 3A State Championships in 2024 and 2025. Missed senior season due to an elbow injury.

CLUB
Played for FS21 Stars (2021–2024) under head coach Michael Yanke and GBG National (Summer 2024) under Michael Garciaparra. Earned 2025 Perfect Game Preseason West Region All-American recognition, Perfect Game 17u World Series participation, and competed in USA Baseball National Teams Championship in Cary, North Carolina. Additional honors include the 2021 Perfect Game All-Tournament Team, AZ Fall Classic Junior All-Academic Game, and 2024 Area Code Games.

PERSONAL
Born in Phoenix, Arizona and grew up in Tempe, Arizona. Son of Michelle and Kevin Sweeney. Has one sister, Caroline. Kevin Sweeney played baseball at Mercyhurst University, earning four letters as a center fielder and was drafted in the 29th round of the 1996 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks, reaching AA. Caleb is active in community service, volunteering weekly at his church’s children’s ministry and serving as an ambassador for Home2First Foundation, supporting underprivileged youth. Graduated with a 3.95 GPA and earned Dean’s List and Honor Roll recognition. Intends to pursue a degree in Business Administration.
