Briefly: Allison Marra begins her second year at LMU...the transfer
from UC Irvine added depth to the forward position...an aggressive
striker with a good nose for the goal, finished her first year at LMU
with nine points, including three goals...will vie for increased
playing time as a junior.
At LMU: Marra will play her junior season, her second with the
Lions...1999...played in 10 games for LMU...Marra got hot at the end
of the season, earning three starts in LMU's final three
games...finished the season with three goals in the Lions' final four
games of the season...she added three assists, also in the final four
games of the season...the three goals included two game winners, the
first goal in a 2-0 win over Santa Barbara and the second goal in a
6-1 win over Gonzaga...tallied 22 shots, 8 on goal for the season.
At UC Irvine: Marra played one season with the Anteaters primarily
at the forward or halfback positions...head coach was Marine Cano.
High School: Marra is a 1998 graduate of West Torrance High School
in Torrance, CA...earned four letters in soccer and three letters in
softball...a two-time All-CIF selection...earned All-Bay League
honors as a sophomore, junior and senior...named the West High School
Most Valuable Offensive Player in 1996 and 1998...garnered South Bay
all-area accolades as a junior and senior by the South Bay Daily
Breeze...prep coach was Mike Shimizu.
Personal: Allison (Alli) Mary Marra was born on May 20, 1980 in
Harbor City, CA...the daughter of Ron and Mary Marra...has one
brother, Nick...enjoys working out and going to the beach in her
spare time...a prep teammate of fellow Lion Jill Dobens...a liberal
studies major who aspires to become an elementary school teacher.
