Briefly:Derick Stickel begins his second year at LMU a sound athlete
who has the phenomenal ability to keep possession...good playmaker who

At LMU:Stickel enters his sophomore season with the Lions...1999...played
in 17 games and started in eight...posted 10 shots throughout the
season...collected his first collegiate assist against Oregon State
(Sept. 24)...tallied a personal-best two shots against CS Bakersfield
(Oct. 17).
High School:Stickel is a 1999 graduate of Rancho Cucamonga High
School in Rancho Cucamonga, CA...a three-year letterwinner...twice served
as team captain...a three-time All-Mt. Baldy League selection...as a
senior earned All-CIF and All-San Bernardino County honors...scored the
winning goal in the CIF quarterfinals in 1999...named 1999 team
MVP...prep coach was Chris Van Duin.
Personal:Derick Christian Stickel was born on April 14, 1981 in
Upland, CA...the son of Ronald Stickel and Cheryl Benton...has one
brother, Ryan, and one sister, Shana...his sister was a four-year
soccer player at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo...lists snowboarding and
wakeboarding as his hobbies...also recruited by California and SMU...a
business major.
