Briefly:Adam Sthay begins his second year at LMU, his first
athletically...a strong goalkeeper, expected to fully develop his
skills this season...very athletic but still untested...will battle for
the third goalkeeper spot.
At LMU:Sthay enters his second season in the Lions'
program...1999...redshirted the season.
High School:Sthay is a 1999 graduate of Punahou High School in
Honolulu, HI...a three-year letterwinner in soccer...also participated in
volleyball...as a junior, helped his soccer team garner the state
championship and was named to the All-ILH second team and all-state
first team...as a senior, led the team to the ILH Championship,
finished second in state, and was named to the All-ILH and all-state
first team...named "Soccer Player of the Year" by the Honolulu Bulls
Soccer Club as a senior...earned the team's Most Inspirational Award
following his final campaign...prep coach was Bob Clague.
Personal:Adam Geoffrey Sthay was born on July 17, 1980 in Honolulu,
HI...the son of William and Kathryn Sthay...is an only child...was a high
school teammate of fellow Lion Jaret Asuncion...also recruited by Saint
Mary's and San Francisco State...names Hawai'i as his favorite vacation
spot...a psychology major.
