Briefly:Dan Sheridan begins his third year at LMU a fantastic
collector of crosses...developed softer hands last season...improved
tremendously throughout the year...will see plenty of time in
goal...stepped up tremendously in the spring...is an excellent shot
blocker...commands incredible leadership in the backfield.
At LMU:Sheridan enters his junior season in the Lions'
program...1999...saw action in seven games while starting five in
goal...collected his first two collegiate shutouts against Oregon State
(Sept. 24) and CS Bakersfield (Oct. 17)...made 14 saves throughout the
year...allowed just two goals in seven games for a GAA of
0.47...1998...played six games in goal and earned two starts...made 17
saves while allowing just five goals...posted a goals against average
of 1.93...earned his first career victory and collected five saves
against Cal State Northridge on Oct. 10...displayed solid skills and
ability, earning increased playing time towards the end of the season.
High School:Sheridan is a 1998 graduate of LaSalle High School in
Pasadena, CA...was a three-sport athlete participating in soccer,
football and baseball...earned eight varsity letters, four in soccer,
three in football, and two in baseball...served as a team captain in
soccer and football as a junior and senior...was a six-time All-Santa
Fe League pick, three times in soccer and football, and twice in
baseball...earned All-San Gabriel Valley honors in soccer as a junior
and in football as a senior...team won the CIF Division IV Soccer
Championship in 1996 and reached the finals in 1997...was inducted into
the LaSalle Hall of Fame in 1998...prep soccer coach was Rick
San-Martin, brother of LMU assistant coach Jim San-Martin.
Personal:Daniel Thomas Sheridan was born on March 25, 1980 in
Chicago, IL...the son of Thomas and Debbie Sheridan...has one brother,
Brian, and one sister, Becky...his sister plays soccer at Davidson
College...was recruited by UC Davis, Washington and Marquette...lists the
Caribbean as his favorite vacation spot...names the Chicago White Sox
of the MLB as his favorite professional team...a history major.
