At LMU:Bonilla enters his junior season in the Lions'
program...1999...saw action in 11 games while starting in six...tallied
four shots throughout the year...recorded two shots against Gonzaga
(Oct. 24)...posted one shot against CS Fullerton (Oct. 3) and St.
Mary's (Nov. 5)...1998...played in six games and started in
one...collected his only shot of the season against UNLV on Sept.
25...contributed strong minutes as a defensive midfielder.
High School:Bonilla is a 1998 graduate of El Toro High School in Lake
Forest, CA...a four-year soccer letterwinner...garnered All-Sea View
League honors three times...an All-Orange County selection as a
junior...served as team captain his senior season...his 1998 squad
advanced to the CIF finals...prep coaches were Ken Sjobom and Bob
Chavez.
Personal:Gonzalo "Gonzo" Toms Bonilla was born on March 24, 1980 in
Buenos Aires, Argentina...the son of Robin and Monica McCrea-Steele...has
one brother, Martin Bonilla, and one sister, Jennifer
McCrea-Steele...also recruited by San Diego State and UC San Diego...a
psychology and Spanish major.
