second-team pick by the Los Angeles Times...garnered first-team All-CIF

Personal:Claudio Andres Basaez was born on July 26, 1980 in Glendale,
CA...the son of Heriberto Basaez and Maria Araya...has one sister,
Gabriela...considered Cal Poly Pomona and UC Irvine before selecting
LMU...names Chile as his favorite vacation spot...a psychology major with
a minor in Spanish.
