Biography
BRIEFLY…Dameane Douglas finished his redshirt junior season of college basketball in 2021-22… Douglas served a redshirt year in 2019-20 after missing the entire season due to injury following a WCC All-Freshman team performance in his first year with the Lions in 2018-19… Named to the All-WCC Honorable Mention team in 2020-21, despite only playing four conference games due to a season-ending injury.
HIGHLIGHTS AT LMU
2021-22 • REDSHIRT JUNIOR… Worked his way back from his previous injury to make his season debut in LMU’s win over Little Rock (11/17/21)… Played 13 games and started his final 10 games until a season-ending injury shut Douglas down for the remainder of the season… Scored in double-digits in nine games including a season-high 18 points and 11 rebounds on 8-for-12 shooting in the comeback win at Tulsa (12/7/21)… Scored 15 points and 14 points in the two conference games before his injury… Shot a career-best 56.7 percent from the field on the season.
2020-21 • REDSHIRT SOPHOMORE… Played and started 12 games in his return to the court, before suffering a season-ending injury four games into the conference schedule… Finished second on the team with 13.5 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game, and 34.8 minutes per game… Scored a career-high 23 points on 9-for-12 shooting in LMU’s win over eventual NCAA Tournament team, UC Santa Barbara (12/12/20)… Scored in double-figures in 10 of 12 games played… Played a career-high 41 minutes and shot 8-for-10 from the field for 19 points in LMU’s win over San Diego (1/19/21)… Grabbed nine rebounds in four different games, and collected five or more rebounds in every single game.
2019-20 • SOPHOMORE… Served a redshirt year in 2019-20 after missing the entire season due to injury.
2018-19 • FRESHMAN… Played in 33 games, which is tied for the 10thmost in LMU single season history. Started 22 games, including the final 14 of the season… Scored a career-high 17 points in the win over Florida A&M (11/24/18), part of a double-double with a career-high matching 10 rebounds… Secured his second double-double of the season in the road win at Santa Clara (1/26/19) with 16 points and 19 rebounds to go along with a career-bests six assists and four steals in a full 40 minute effort… Also grabbed double-digit rebounds in the win over Ohio (11/18/19) to help LMU win the Jamaica Classic… Added 15 point performances in conference play against Pacific (1/31/19) and San Diego (2/7/19)… Rewrote the LMU freshman record book, finishing 14thall-time in freshman scoring with 275 points, fifth in freshman rebounding with 161 boards, 10thin freshman rebounding average at 4.9 rebounds per game, and tied for ninth in freshman steals with 26… Named to the WCC All-Freshman Team.
BEFORE LMU…Played for Hanford West before graduating from San Joaquin Memorial High... Also played Football as Hanford West's quarterback for two seasons... His AAU team was California United Elite... As a junior, averaged 35 points, 15 rebounds, five assists, and five blocks per game, earning himself the Hanford Sentinel's 2017 boys basketball Player of the Year.
According to the Sentinel, "Of the top five scoring games in Hanford West history, Douglas holds four of them, including a school record 45 points in a single game early in the year against Hoover. His points per game and rebound averages were also school records."
PERSONAL…Dameane Douglas was born in Concord, Calif., and is from Hanford, Calif... He is the son of Michelle Martin and Dameane Douglas... His father, Dameane, played football at Cal Berkeley before going on to play for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL... Has one younger brother, Domanick.
