Following a .293 clip in 1999, Hirsh went on the offensive, hitting .314 on the season in 2000...he had 49 hits in 156 at-bats for the Lions, driving in 29 runs...started 42 games and appeared in an additional 13 games...he started 22 times in right and 20 in left...the team was 17-5 when he was in right and 14-6 when in left...11 extra base hits on the season while batting primarily in the eighth spot in the line-up (23 times)...also hit in the second spot in the line-up 12 times...committed only one defensive error, having 81 putouts and throwing out two from the outfield...put together a seven game hitting streak that started in the second game of the season (Feb. 6-Feb. 19)...went 2-for-3 in the third game of season against California, hitting a home run and driving in three...in a 12-7 win over UC Santa Barbara (2/11/00) went 3-for-4 with two runs scored two RBI, hitting a double and a home run.
1999 Regional Notes
In two games against Stanford and Nevada, he finished with a 2-for-4 effort, drove in one run and drew a team-leading three walks...went 0-for-2 with a walk in the team's 10-2 loss to Stanford...returned with a 2-for-2 effort and two walks in the team's game against Nevada...drove in one of LMU's three runs against the Wolfpack after drawing a bases-loaded walk in the third inning...followed with singles in each of his final two at-bats, collecting both hits in the sixth and ninth innings.

Played in 51 games, starting in 36...hit .297 (41-for-138) with five doubles, one triple and four home runs...Finished with 26 RBI and scored 24 runs through the campaign...registered a .435 slugging percentage (10th on the team) and a .407 on-base percentage (2nd)...committed two errors in 94 chances (.979)...went 0-for-4 against Nevada, playing in three games and starting in one...drove in three runs against Cal State Northridge (2-26-99), a solo home run in the 5th inning and sacrifice RBIs in the 8th (bunt) and 9th (fly) innings...only player to hit two home runs in one game on the season...hit two in the team's 20-11 win at UNLV (3-3-99)...broke his career single-game RBI record with four in a 12-10 loss to UCLA (had a three-run home run in the game)...drew a pinch-hit bases loaded walk in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game at 7-7 against San Francisco (3-26-99)...went 4-for-4 with an RBI in a 10-9 loss to Portland (5-1-99)...finished with a 1-for-4 effort and drove in both of LMU's two runs in the team's 18-2 loss to Pepperdine in Game 2 of the WCC Championship series.

Played in 30 games on the season, primarily as a spot player in the outfield...started in 16 games; 14 in right field, one in left field, and one as the DH...had his best performance of the year at UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 13), where he established a career-high with three RBI and hit his first collegiate home run...achieved an eight-game hitting streak to start his career (Feb. 1-Feb. 15).

A 1997 graduate of Crespi High School in Encino, CA...earned four varsity letters, all as a member of the baseball team...played exclusively in right field and occasionally worked as a pitcher...served as a team captain...was an all-conference pick in each of his four seasons...played for coach Scott Muckey.
