Appeared and started in 53 games...tied for the team lead in average at .324...had 31 runs scored, 60 hits, five doubles, one triple, two home runs and 21 RBI...named Second Team All-WCC...posted 17 multi-hit games...hit safely in 36 of 50 games played...hit safely in six straight from 3/16-3/25 (.500 (12x24), 6 R, 2B, HR, 2 RBI)...went 3x5 with with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI at CSUB on 5/8...went 3x4 with a run scored and 3 RBI vs. San Francisco on 4/13...drew three walks and scored twice at San Diego on 4/7...batted .692 (9x13) with 3 R, HR, 2 SB and 2 RBI over week of 3/19-25...launched second homer of the year in a 5-4 win over Long Beach on 3/20 (3x4, HR, RBI)...hit in seven straight games from 2/25 - 3/6, scoring a run in five of the seven...went 3x4 with a run scored and one RBI vs. Portland on 4/22...went 3x4 with 2 RBI and a 2B vs. Valparaiso on 3/11 in game 2 of DH...went 2x4 with first career HR at Hawai'i on 3/2 (solo HR in T9)...

Appeared in 34 games and started 20 in his freshmen campaign... hit .265 with 13 runs scored and 10 RBI... posted three doubles and one triple... drew 13 walks and stole four bases... appeared in 14 games and started nine in WCC play... hit .286 in conference play with nine runs scored and eight RBI... scored three runs at Portland on 5/21... drove in three vs. Pacific on 4/2 (1-for-2, 2 R, 2B, SB)... went 2-for-3 with a run scored and a RBI vs. Pacific on 3/31... 2-for-5 with a run scored, a double and a triple at Cal Poly on 3/11... scored twice and drove in two vs. BYU on 3/24... 3-for-4 with game-winning RBI-1B in T9 at Arizona State on 3/4 (1st start of career)... 2-for-4 with a walk at USF on 3/19... walked and stole first base of career on 2/24 vs. Washington State... notched pinch-hit single in first collegiate at bat on Opening Day vs #19 UCSB...

A 2016 graduate of Jesuit High School in Sacramento, Calif... prepped under head coach Joe Potulny... a two-year varsity letter winner... garnered All-League honors as a senior... also earned All-Area recognition in his final campaign... hit .446 while leading the team in doubles in 2016... recorded a hit in 13 consecutive at bats, setting a school record... helped his team to the Delta River League Championship in 2015... named to IMG Academy All-Tournament team... Nick Sogard was born in Los Angeles, Calif... son of Tamara and Steven Sogard... father played baseball and football at Tufts University... cousin is Major Leaguer, Eric Sogard ... uncles are former Major Leaguers, Steve and Dave Sax ... has one sister, Elana... chose LMU because he was recruited for baseball and it was his first choice... an economics major.
