Appeared in four games with two starts…had a 1-1 record with 17 strikeouts and an ERA of 3.12 in 17 1/3 innings pitched…finished in top five on team in ERA, opposing batting average, innings pitched, batters struck out and games started…in first start of season threw 6 1/3 innings with a season-high six strikeouts for the win at UC Davis on 3/1…

2019 - SOPHOMORE 
Appeared in 26 games, making four starts…completed season with a 4-2 record and an ERA of 3.54 in 48.1 innings pitched…won first game of the season on 3/1 at USC (3.1 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 5 K)…pitched 4.0 innings allowing three hits, two runs and struck out three against Saint Mary’s in the WCC Championship Tournament on 5/25…pitched 0.2 innings and earned the win against #1 UCLA in Los Angeles Regional of NCAA Tournament on 6/1…

2018 - FRESHMAN
Appeared in 19 games, making four starts...finished season with an ERA of 4.46 and a record of 1-3...picked up a win vs. San Francisco to clinch series on 4/14 (3.2 IP, H, BB, 2 K)...made collegiate debut on 2/17 vs. Indiana State at Marucci Desert Classic in Las Vegas...got first career start vs. #20 UCLA on 4/3 and took a loss...earned the save on 4/24 vs. CSUB with a scoreless 9th...

HIGH SCHOOL
A 2017 graduate of Serra High School in Gardena, Calif... prepped under coaches Wil Aaron and Martel London... a four-year varsity letter winner... named All-Del Rey League as a freshman, sophomore and senior... pitched to a 2.21 ERA and 178 strikeouts over 189.2 career innings... took home MaxPreps Player of the Game 14 times... garnered Rookie of the Year and first team All-League honors as a freshman... second team All-League selection as a sophomore... Cardinal Joseph Fernandezees was born in Torrance, Calif... son of Lorraine and Cardinal Joseph Fernandezees... has one brother, Tristan... chose LMU because of the amount of successful graduates it produces... he also liked the small student-to-teacher ratio, beautiful campus, and perfect location near the South Bay beaches... a mechanical engineering major.
