LOS ANGELES — After leading Loyola Marymount University women's volleyball to a 2-0 start in West Coast Conference play, Maria Tabacuks has been named the WCC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. 

Tabacuks powered the Lions throughout their Bay Area road trip, totaling 41 kills across nine sets while averaging 4.56 kills per set. She finished the weekend with 42.5 points, 18 digs and three blocks as LMU earned road victories over San Francisco and Santa Clara to improve to 11-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

The sophomore opened WCC play with one of her strongest performances of the season at San Francisco, recording a team-high 26 kills while hitting .306 and adding 10 digs for a double-double. Tabacuks totaled 26.5 points in the five-set victory and helped LMU close the match with a dominant 15-8 fifth set. Pasted markdown 

She followed with another team-leading performance at Santa Clara, finishing with 15 kills, eight digs and 16.0 points in LMU's 3-1 victory. Tabacuks helped the Lions hit .262 as a team while Santa Clara was held to .135. 
Tabacuks also delivered in key moments throughout the weekend. She closed the second set against San Francisco with a kill and added four kills in the fifth set as LMU pulled away for the victory. Against Santa Clara, she contributed throughout LMU's decisive third and fourth sets as the Lions completed an undefeated conference-opening road trip. 

Tabacuks has now recorded at least 15 kills in four consecutive matches and leads LMU with 194 kills and 223.5 points through 13 matches this season.
