Lindsay O’Dell Named WCC Pitcher of the Week After Historic Opening Stretch

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The LMU Lions Softball program is proud to announce that senior right-hander Lindsay O'Dell has been selected as the West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week following a dominant and record-setting opening weekend performance.

O'Dell delivered one of the strongest pitching displays in the conference to start the 2026 season, appearing in four games while going 2-0 with one save and throwing 16.1 scoreless innings. She posted a perfect 0.00 ERA, allowing just six total hits, holding opposing lineups to a .111 batting average, and finishing the week with 15 strikeouts and a 0.55 WHIP.

She opened the season with a statement outing in LMU's win against the Boise State Broncos, recording a new single-game career high of eight strikeouts. In that complete-game shutout, she not only set a personal milestone but also made program history, handing Boise State its first-ever shutout loss in a season opener.

Across the weekend, O'Dell's command was unmatched. She did not allow a single extra-base hit, issued only three walks, and kept every ball in the yard with zero home runs allowed. She added a complete-game shutout, anchored LMU's staff in relief across multiple appearances, and showcased her defensive reliability with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage, adding an assist, a putout, and throwing out a baserunner to maintain a 1.000 caught-stealing rate.

O'Dell's efficiency, poise, and total command in the circle were instrumental in LMU's strong start and established her as one of the premier arms in the WCC out of the gate. Her performance this week solidifies her as a deserving recipient of the conference's Pitcher of the Week honor.
