BREMERTON, Wash. – LMU's
Cade Anderson closed out his final round of play in impressive fashion, recording nine birdies to jump 20 positions into the top-10 of the NCAA Bremerton Regional leaderboard.
Anderson's front nine consisted of seven birdies alone, before the senior added birdies on 13 and 18 to finish his tournament at 3-under. Anderson finished as the top individual and in a three-way tie for ninth overall with his 75-73-65—213. Anderson's 16 birdies throughout the three rounds were the fourth most of the entire field and placed him only behind the tournament's top three finishers, Utah's Braxton Watts, South Carolina's Frankie Harris, and Florida's Matthew Kress.
Mason Snyder finished in a six-way tie for 37
th place at 5-over par. His sophomore season ends with a score of 75-73-73—221. Snyder hit four birdies in the final round, including a birdie on the 18
th hole for the second consecutive day.
The team's advancing out of the Region will be Florida, Arizona State, Colorado, South Florida, and South Carolina. Watts took the individual title and will also compete in Carlsbad for the NCAA Championships at OMNI La Costa Resort.
This is the sixth consecutive season under Head Coach
Jason D'Amore that the Lions have competed in the NCAA Regionals either as a team or with individual selections (outside of the canceled 2020 season).
