LOS ANGELES – The LMU women's basketball program has announced the addition of transfer guard Lova Lagerlid to its 2025–26 roster.
"Lova has all the makings of a high-level player for us in the WCC," says Coach
Aarika Hughes. "Her versatility on both sides of the ball, she can handle and get downhill, and her competitiveness is everything we look for. She will be someone for us who can guard multiple positions and attack mismatches on the other end, which has shown great success in our league. Her game is just scratching the surface, and I can't wait to coach her, and I'm grateful she's a Lion."
Lagerlid, a sophomore transfer from the University of Colorado, hails from Stockholm, Sweden, and brings international experience to LMU. She has represented Sweden on the U15, U16, and U18 national teams, averaging 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist across seven games in the U18 European Championships. She also competed for Sweden's 3x3 national team and was one of just two Swedish players selected to the prestigious NBA and FIBA Women's Basketball Without Borders Global Camp.
Before her time in the U.S., Lagerlid starred at Riksbasketgymnasiet Luleå, leading her team to a 2024 league championship. As a junior, she averaged 13.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.3 assists, and was a three-time Swedish National Championship MVP during her high school career.
Lagerlid is the daughter of Therese and Jonas Lagerlid and has two younger sisters, Linn and Vendela.
