STOCKTON, CA The Lions came up just short on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Pacific Tigers, 3-2, in the final game of the series.
PAC struck early, plating three runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Jessica Hubbard entered in relief and helped steady things on the mound, holding the Tigers scoreless the rest of the way.
LMU started to rally in the third, as
Justine Lambert singled home
Analiah Lummus to cut the deficit to 3-1.
The Lions kept the pressure on in the fifth. Lummus led off with a double, and after a base hit from
Sydney Poole,
Arianna Jaurequi delivered an RBI to bring LMU within one. However, PAC managed to work out of the jam, leaving two Lions stranded.
LMU was unable to complete the comeback in the seventh, as the Tigers retired the side in order to seal the win.
The Lions will aim to bounce back in their upcoming matchup against Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday, April 22, at 6 PM.
