SACRAMENTO - The Lions pulled off a dramatic comeback in the seventh inning to take down the Sacramento State Hortnets 5-4 on the road Sunday morning.

Sacramento State got on the board first in the second inning and ended up scoring again in the third, leading the Lions, 2-0

In the fourth, Izzy Jamgotchian singled, sending Arianna Jaurequi back home and getting the Lions on the board. The Hornets tacked on another run in the sixth, putting LMU in a 3-1 hole heading into the final frame. That's when the bats came alive for LMU. 

Kealani Caster got things rolling after getting hit by a pitch, and with some smart baserunning from Emma Gutierrez and running on a throwing error, LMU closed the gap. Then with two outs and the game on the line, Sakora Harvell came up clutch, smashing a three-run double to give the Lions a 5-3 lead.

Sacramento State made it interesting in the bottom of the seventh, scoring one and putting pressure on the LMU defense, but the Lions held firm and got the win.

The Lions will look to build on this momentum in their next matchup against No. 5 Texas A&M University in College Station, TX.
