SANTA CLARA, CA – The LMU Lions took down Santa Clara, 69-62, on Saturday afternoon in a hard-fought road win.
Brandi Williams was on fire again, leading all scorers for the second straight game with 24 points and four rebounds.
Allison Clarke had a strong showing too, dropping 18 points on an efficient 6-8 shooting, including 5-7 from deep, while also dishing out four assists.

LMU came out hot, starting the game with a four-point play from Williams after getting fouled on a three. That sparked a 9-0 run, and by the end of the first quarter, the Lions were up 19-10, shooting nearly 47% from the field.
In the second quarter, the Lions kept their momentum going, stretching their lead to double digits when Clarke hit a three off a pass from
Naudia Evans. By halftime, LMU was in control, leading 33-21.
Santa Clara fought back in the third, shooting over 60% from the field and beyond the arc. A 7-0 Broncos run cut LMU's lead to single digits, making it 47-40 heading into the fourth.
The Broncos kept pushing, trimming the deficit to just four after sinking back-to-back free throws. They outshot
LMU in the final quarter, but the Lions locked in at the free-throw line, scoring their last 11 points from the stripe and finishing 12-13 (92.3%) to close it out.
Up next, LMU heads to Pullman, WA, to take on Washington State on Feb. 13.
