The LMU Lions were defeated by the No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon.

Oklahoma took control early, launching a three-run homer in the first inning. A pair of defensive miscues allowed two additional runs to score, giving the Sooners a 5-0 lead after one frame.

In the second inning, Oklahoma continued to press, adding a solo home run to extend their lead. LMU's offense remained quiet in the early going, managing just one hit through three innings—courtesy of Jasmine Sofowora.

The Lions had a chance to break through in the fourth inning when Izzy Jamgotchian singled, and Emma Gutierrez entered as a pinch runner. However, LMU was unable to bring the run home.

After a quiet stretch in the middle innings, Oklahoma added two more runs late in the game. Despite the deficit, LMU's defense closed out the final inning without further damage.

Sofowora led the Lions with two hits, including a double, while Kealani Caster recorded six team-high putouts.

LMU looks to bounce back in their next game on Sunday, Feb. 9, at 11 AM against Nevada.
