RENO, Nevada. – LMU nearly erased an 8-point fourth quarter deficit on Thursday morning against Nevada. The Lions used a late 7-0 run to set up a thrilling final two minutes before the Wolf Pack finally took the game, 56-52.
 
Ivana Krajina started the game with a jumped just six seconds into play. After Nevada took the lead, Andjela Matic started a 5-0 run with a made three to give LMU the lead right back. The Lions used a late three by Krajina to push ahead by four with 23 seconds left in the quarter but a late and-1 by Nevada pulled the home team back within a point, 12-11.
 
After Nevada started the second quarter on an 8-2 run, LMU responded with an 11-2 run of their own. Matic scored nine of the points during that stretch to give the Lions a four-point lead. LMU carried a 25-24 lead into the half.
 
The Wolf Pack used an 18-12 third quarter to retake the lead, before adding to it early in the fourth quarter. Nevada led by eight when Maya Hernandez hit back-to-back jumpers and Jess Lawson scored the next three points to bring the deficit to one with 2:06 on the clock. LMU only hit one free throw down the stretch while two field goals for Nevada gave the home team the lead.
 
Hernanez scored a game-high 16 points on 7-for-14 shooting. Krajina and Matic added a dozen points apiece. 
 
The game featured nine lead changes and four tie scores. 
 
The Lions return home on Tuesday to host Westcliff.
