LOS ANGELES – Returning Golden Coast Conference Regular Season Champions LMU women's water polo is set to begin their 2025 season on Saturday with two games in Long Beach at the Beach Invite.
The Lions will open the event against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at 9:15 AM before playing the number three team in the country, the USC Trojans, at 4:45 PM. The games will be played at Ken Lindgren Aquatics Center as part of a multi-team eight game event. The all-day tournament will begin at 8:00 AM with
tickets available here.
LMU enters the season with a top 10 national ranking in the 2025 Women's Varsity National Top 25.
On Wednesday morning, the GCC announced the 2025 Preseason Coaches' Poll. After posting a 7-0 record in conference play in 2024 and advancing to the GCC Title game, LMU received 46 total points and three first place votes to place second overall behind last season's GCC Tournament Champion Fresno State.
The Bulldogs and Lions collectively claimed all eight first place votes. Pacific, San Diego State, Azusa Pacific, CBU, Santa Clara, and Concordia round out the remainder of the poll.
LMU will play away from home for the first month of the season. The Lions will make their home debut on Feb. 15 against UC San Diego at Burns Aquatics Center. In total, eight regular season home games are on the
2025 schedule. All regular season home games will be free entry for fans and will be available to stream on ESPN+ throughout the season.
The Lions will serve as the host institution for the
2025 GCC Championship from April 25-27. Ticket and broadcast information for the GCC Championship will be available later in the year.
