DAVIS, Calif. - Kylie Dobbs scored a brace and Maci Land scored her first collegiate goal to lead LMU past UC Davis 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in Davis, Calif.  
 
Dobbs opened the scoring in the 21st minute. She went with her weaker right foot and beat the keeper into the top left of the net. 
 
The Aggies were awarded a penalty kick in the 27th minute after Caitlyn McCulloch was judged to have committed a foul inside the penalty area. They converted from the spot to tie the match. 
 
It was Dobbs once again giving the Lions the lead just moments later. She scored with an assist to Genevieve Watkins to provide the halftime score. It was Dobbs' third tally of the week, already just one goal shy of matching her season total from 2023.  
 
The Aggies knotted the score once again in the 50th minute to add some second half drama to the match.  
 
The Lions would not be denied their first 2-0 start since 2014, however.  
 
Land connected with the assist going to Emma Gustad Myklebust for her first collegiate goal, a game-winner. She put the Lions ahead in the 63rd minute of the match and the Lions allowed four more shots the rest of the way, only needing JJ Hoover to make a stop once.  
 
The Lions improved to 2-0 with the victory and look to keep the momentum going into their next opponent, CSUN. That match will be held on Sunday, August 25th at 7:00 p.m. (PT).
