Box Score MORAGA, CA – In their final regular-season matchup against the Saint Mary Gaels on Saturday afternoon, the Lions faced a tough 8-0 defeat.
The Gaels wasted no time, securing an early lead with two runs in the first inning, followed by another in the second off a double play.
Although the Lions managed two hits from
Sakora Harvell and
Mika Chong in the third inning, they couldn't capitalize on them to score.
By the fourth inning,
Jenna Perez was replaced by
Savannah Hooks in an effort to stall the Gaels' offense. Unfortunately, the Gaels added three more runs, extending their lead to 6-0.
Despite opportunities in the fifth and sixth innings, the Lions couldn't break through the Gaels' solid defense. In the sixth inning, the Gaels scored two more runs off a single to shortstop, ultimately sealing the game with an 8-0 victory in six innings.
