WCC Announcement
 
LOS ANGELES – The West Coast Conference has announced the Beach Volleyball All-Academic and Honorable Mention teams for the 2024 season. LMU led the conference with four members on the All-Academic Team and seven total student-athletes recognized.
 
Cassie Chinn, Madi Firnett, Chloe Hooker, and Jacinda Ramirez have all been named to the All-Academic Team by the conference. Anna Pelloia, Isabelle Reffel, and Michelle Shaffer have each earned Honorable Mention recognition.
 
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team and in at least their second year at their school.
 
The Lions enter the week at the ninth-ranked team in the country and the top seed for the 2024 West Coast Conference Beach Volleyball Tournament. The WCC Tournament will be held at Ocean Park Beach in Santa Monica, Calif. The event runs Thursday, April 25 to Friday, April 26.
 
LMU is the defending four-time WCC Champion after capturing its inaugural title in 2019. The Lions upended three-time champion Pepperdine who did not drop a point in winning the debut event in 2016 and repeating in 2017 and 2018. The Lions beat Pepperdine twice in elimination matches on day two of the 2019 tournament to take the crown before topping the Waves in three straight finals from 2021-23.
