LOS ANGELES – Following an undefeated season in the Golden Coast Conference, LMU women's water polo received several recognitions from the conference honoring the individuals who have led to their successes this season.
Ruth Arino Ruiz was named the 2024 GCC Player of the Year after leading the conference in both assists and points and ranking second in steals. Arino Ruiz returns to the All-GCC First Team for the second consecutive season.
Joining Arino Ruiz on the All-GCC First Team is
Skye Nankervis in her first season with the Lions. Nankervis led the conference in steals and was named GCC Newcomer of the Year for her play.
Head Coach
Ikaika Aki added three Israelis to his roster this offseason and all three were named to the All-GCC Second Team.
Inbar Geva represented the goalkeepers and
Lior Ben David and
Noa Sasover earned recognition for their play in the field. Sasover was also named to the GCC All-Freshman Team.
Yanah Gerber closed out the postseason honors with her selection to the All-GCC Honorable Mention Team.
The Lions will enter as the top seed in the upcoming GCC Championship after earning the program's first GCC regular season title. LMU's regular season title is added to the school's two previous tournament titles (2014 and 2015).
The
2024 GCC Women's Championships begin on Friday, April 26 with four first round matchups from Santa Clara University's Sullivan Aquatic Center. The tournament runs through Sunday, April 28 with the championship game at 1 pm. Buy tickets, get streaming information and full tournament details at our
