FRESNO, CA – On Saturday morning, the Lions suffered a 3-0 defeat against the Fresno State Bulldogs.
The game commenced slowly as
Jenna Perez for the Lions and Jordan for the Bulldogs pitched with precision, resulting in zero runs, zero errors, and just one hit apiece.
It wasn't until the second inning that the Bulldogs broke the deadlock, doubling to center field to score their first run. Despite the Lions efforts in the third inning, where they managed two hits from
Sakora Harvell and
Mika Chong, they were unable to bring any runs home.
In the fifth inning, Fresno State extended their lead with another run, courtesy of a fielder's choice, after
Savannah Hooks replaced Perez on the mound. The Bulldogs maintained their momentum, adding an unearned run off a walk.
Even though they tried to come back, the Lions were unable to bridge the gap and secure the victory. The Bulldogs won, 3-0.
The Lions play again Apr. 6 against Cal Berkeley in Berkeley, CA.
