STOCKTON, Calif. – No. 12 LMU women's water polo kept No. 21 Pacific scoreless in two of the four quarters to win 10-5.
The Lions jumped ahead early, scoring all four goals in the first quarter.
Carolina Magano opened the game with a goal,
Ruth Arino Ruiz followed with two of her own, and
Noa Sasover closed the period with LMU's fourth.
Pacific responded with three of the four goals of the second quarter, including one as time expired before halftime.
Skye Nankervis scored LMU's lone goal of the second period.
Anna Tarantino set the tone coming out of intermission with the quarter's only two goals.
The lead grew to 10-3 as Nankervis, Arino Ruiz, Tarantino all scored goals to start the final period. Pacific scored twice in the last two minutes to close the game and give LMU the 10-5 win.
Inbar Geva made eight saves over the first three periods of the game.
Madison Davis played the final quarter in the cage and made a save in her eight minutes of action.
LMU returns home on Friday afternoon with a 5:00 PM game against Princeton for the final non-conference game of the season.
