HONOLULU, HI. - The Lions defeated Tennessee State and Hawaii Friday, securing a 6-4 win against the Tigers and a 4-2 victory over the Rainbow Wahines.

Game 1:

At the beginning of the game,
Lindsay O'Dell came out hot, holding the Tigers to no runs or hits. Although the Lions managed three hits in the bottom of the inning, they couldn't convert them into runs.

The game gained momentum in the third inning, as the Tigers secured two runs with a triple to right center.
Jessica Hubbard took over from O'Dell, but TSU added another run by the inning's close. The Lions responded with the same energy when
Lilliana Thomas singled to center field, bringing
Lauryn Carter and
Hayley Olivas home. Shortly after,
Elisa Rosado's hit to left field drove in an RBI, leveling the score at 3-3.

In the fourth inning,
Mika Chong launched her first home run of the season, contributing three RBIs and putting the Lions ahead at 6-3.

The Tigers scored again in the fifth inning, but LMU would be the winning team, 6-4.

Game 2:

During the first inning, the Lions managed to secure two hits but weren't able to translate them into runs. However, this was not a setback, as in the latter part of the inning,
Savannah Hooks and the Lions' defense successfully prevented any runs, hits, or errors, keeping the score intact at zero.Â

In the second inning, Chong secured her second home run of the day, earning two RBIs and granting the Lions a lead. However, in the bottom half of the inning, the Rainbow Wahines also delivered a home run, knotting the score back to 2-2.

At the onset of the third inning,
Arianna Jaurequi notched the Lions' first hit with a double down the left-field line, advancing to third.
Adele Braun promptly brought Jaurequi home in the subsequent play, propelling the Lions into a 3-2 lead.

The final run of the evening came from
Madalie Gomez in the fifth inning, concluding the score at 4-2.

The Lions will continue to play tomorrow at 2:30 PM against the Portland State Vikings.
