LOS ANGELES – Head Coach
Tairia Flowers has announced the addition of Shelby Jeffries to the LMU softball coaching staff.
"We're thrilled to have Shelby's experiences contribute to our staff," said Flowers. "She is one of the rising stars in coaching. She has learned under two Olympic pitchers in Ally Carda and Michelle Granger and understands what it takes to lead a team to the Women's College World Series."
Jeffries joins the Lions from University of Washington, where she was on the staff that helped the Huskies return to Oklahoma City in 2023. In her lone season in Seattle, UW won 44 games, and hosted both NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals, advancing in both. She also grew up pitching under UW All-American Eve Gaw.
Jeffries played five years at Cal Poly where she was named NFCA All-West Region Second Team her senior year as a utility player/pitcher. In her final two season with the Mustangs, Jeffries batted .309 with 40 RBI, 12 doubles and seven home runs. Jeffries ranks seventh in program history.
Following her collegiate career, Jeffries went on to become a graduate assistant/pitching coach at Cal State Bakersfield. During her time with the Roadrunners, she assisted in the training and development of the offense and defense while also calling pitches in-game.
Jeffries graduated with her degree in recreation, parks and tourism administration from Cal Poly. She joins the back-to-back West Coast Conference Champions and will begin with the Lions immediately.
