LOS ANGELES – In addition to a record of 29-9, a fourth-consecutive West Coast Conference Tournament Title, a third-consecutive trip to the NCAA Championship, and a third-consecutive season with an NCAA Tournament game won, the LMU Beach Volleyball team has finished the season in the top-5 of the Final AVCA Collegiate Beach Poll for the third consecutive season.
The Lions received 387 points in the final poll to finish fifth in the nation. LMU's 2023 NCAA Tournament opened with a win over now 10
th-ranked Hawai'i before losing to eventual National Champions, USC.
Coming off the best start in program history at 11-0, the Lions worked their way through a challenging schedule that featured 27 ranked opponents. LMU beat 18 ranked opponents this year and went 18-9 in such games.
This marks the fifth consecutive season that LMU has been ranked in the final collegiate poll. The 2018 appearance at 15 was the first time the Lions ended the year in the top-20. LMU cracked into the top-10 in 2019, and has finished third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, over the last three years.
