FULLERTON, CA – The Lions finished Day two of the Judi Garman Classic with a win against Seattle and a loss against the No. 20 Oregon Ducks
The Lions won game one against the Seattle Redhawks, 8-4.
Both teams scored two runs in the first inning and zero runs in the second inning being tied, 2-2, by the third.
In the third inning
Morgan DeBord was in a scoring position when Jamgotchian singled up the middle sending her home.
Kat Hummer came in to replace Jamgotchian and gave the Lions another run when
Jasmine Sofowora tripled to center field.
LMU scored four more runs in the fifth inning thanks to
Avery Francis, Sofowora and Jamgotchian. The Lions now led, 8-2.
The Redhawks scored another two runs in the sixth innings, but it wouldn't be enough to beat the Lions. LMU would win 8-4.
In the nightcap, the Lions lost to the Ducks, 9-0.
The Ducks hit a home run in the first inning putting them on the board first. In the second inning the Lions had zero hits and zero runs once again.
Oregon scored another four runs in the third inning leading LMU, 5-0.
The Ducks would gain another run in the fourth and their final three in the fifth inning.
The Lions next game is tomorrow, Mar. 5, against the Minnesota Gophers.
