FULLERTON, CA – The Lions lost their last game of the Judi Garman Classic to the Minnesota Gophers, 7-5.
 
In the first inning both the Lions and Gophers gained a run tying the score, 1-1. For the next two innings LMU and Minnesota played great defense. Both teams with run less.
 
At the top of the fourth, Minnesota would end the drought gaining a run by doubling to left field and now leading the Lions, 2-1.
 
The Gophers would score another two runs at the top of the fifth inning, but the Lions would quickly respond back.
 
Taylor Fitch was next at bat when she singled, advancing to second, sending Sydney Poole and Amanda Treatch back to home plate. The Gophers and Lions would be all tied up at four a piece.
 
At the end of the sixth inning both teams remained, 4-4. With the seventh inning coming up, extra innings were looking very promising until the Gophers gained three gained at the top of the inning.
 
The seventh inning would end with a home run by Morgan DeBord, but it wouldn't be enough to catch up to the Gophers.
 
The Lions next game will be Friday, Mar. 10, against the Baylor Bears in Long Beach, CA.
