LOS ANGELES – LMU claimed the doubles point to get off to a hot start and then cruised with victories on courts three, five and six to even up their record at 1-1 in West Coast Conference play with a 4-0 victory over Saint Mary's on Saturday morning. Â

The match was moved up due to the availability of referees, and the Lions came ready to play. Â

Head coach Tom Lloyd switched up the doubles roster a bit. The tandem of Yassine Smiej and
Toky Ranaivo cruised to a 6-1 victory in number three doubles before the newly formed team of
John Bryan Otico and
Austin Di Giulio won a tiebreaker set to clinch the first point of the match. Â

Smiej continued his run of strong play with a straight sets victory on court two to add another point for the Lions. Â

Ranaivo won handily on court five 6-2, 6-2 to claim a point and
Alvaro Gonzalez finished the match with a straight sets win on court six to send the Lion faithful home happy.Â

LMU will be back on the court on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. (PT) to face Pacific in another WCC matchup. Â
