WCC Release
LOS ANGELES – Following a tremendous regular season on the court, LMU's
Cam Shelton has been named to the West Coast Conferences First Team. Joining Shelton with WCC Recognition is co-captain
Keli Leaupepe who earned a spot on the All-WCC Honorable Mention Team.
Shelton has elevated his game in all phases this season, which has helped LMU earn fourth place entering this week's WCC Championships. No player in the league has scored more points in conference games this season than Shelton and his 23.31 points per game. Shelton has recorded the most 30 or more-point scoring nights in league play with four than any other WCC player. In WCC games, Shelton has dished out 4.56 assists per game, the fourth most, grabbed 5.06 rebounds per game as a guard, the 17
th most, and totaled 1.75 steals per game, the fifth most.
Leaupepe returns to the All-WCC Honorable Mention team for his second time under Head Coach
Stan Johnson. Leaupepe is the 17
th overall scorer in the WCC with 13.4 points per game this season and has grabbed the eighth most rebounds at 6.9 boards per contest. Leaupepe was a member of the WCC All-Freshman team in 2019-20 and earned his first All-WCC Honorable Mention Team selection in 2020-21.
Both players were named to the
WCC's All-Academic Team earlier this week.
The Lions will enter the WCC Tournament on Saturday in the quarter finals with a 7:00 PM on ESPN2.
