Palm Springs, CA – The Lions took a tough loss to the No. 2 ranked Oklahoma Sooners, 10-1, Saturday afternoon.
The Sooners came out in the first inning scoring three runs on the Lions. In the second inning the Lions walked to first base, but followed with two fly outs; and ending the top of the inning with a strikeout.
At the bottom of the inning, the Sooners scored another four runs leading the Lions, 7-0. In the third inning Oklahoma scored their last three runs.
At the top of the fourth inning
Jessica Hubbard came in to relieve
Lindsay O'Dell in hopes of stopping the Sooners; which they did. The Sooner had zero hits in the inning.
The Lions only run of the game came in the fifth inning when
Sydney Poole grounded out to 2b sending
Jasmine Sofowora back home.
The Sooners would defeat the Lions in five innings.
The Lions will take on the Portland State and UC San Diego tomorrow, Feb. 26, on the final day of the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.
