LOS ANGELES – The LMU baseball team fell to San Jose State 12-2 on Sunday afternoon at Page Stadium.Â

Michael Nunez took the mound for the rubber match of the series. He allowed a first inning grand slam and a two-run shot in the third before he was pulled.Â

Ryan Mullan came in and allowed one run over 2.2 innings of relief. Mullan notched his first career strikeout on the first batter he faced collegiately.Â

Cole Clark also made his collegiate debut and notched a scoreless inning in the top of the sixth.Â

The Spartans put up three more runs in the seventh, one in the eighth and one in the ninth to mark the final tally.Â

Brett Zimmerman walked and scored a run before driving in the other as a bright spot for the offense. Â

Diego Baqueiro and
Jared Thomas continued their hot starts to the season with a hit apiece. Baqueiro is now slashing .400/.538/.700. Â

The Lions will face Long Beach State on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6:00 p.m. (PT) at Page Stadium in the first midweek contest of the season.Â
