Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Lions Fall on the Road in Reno

RENO, Nev. – LMU and Nevada men's basketball had each won games on their own courts in this matchup over the last two seasons. The Wolf Pack continued the trend of defending home court with Saturday night's 73-59 win.

The Wolf Pack took a 9-2 lead to open the game, but a converted and-1 followed by a three-pointer gave Keli Leaupepe six quick points and cut it back to a one-possession game. Leaupepe finished with all 10 of his points in the first half.

Dominick Harris hit a three to make it a 13-11 deficit with 14:34 showing on the clock before Nevada rattled off the next six.

Lamaj Lewis hit two layups in the first half, including one to beat the buzzer as time expired. The play started with a block on the defensive end before LMU pushed it up to Lewis to beat the clock and make it a 38-26 game at the half.

The first three LMU field goals of the second half all came from Will Johnston made threes. Johnston scored all 13 of his points in the second half.

Harris scored five points in the late 7-0 run, with Michael Graham's slam dunk accounting for the other two. Harris finished with 13 points for the Lions.

Seven of LMU's 10 baskets in the second half came from three-point land, including the first career made three for freshman Aaron McBride.

LMU held the edge in second-chance points, fast break points, and bench points.

The Lions will return to the Silver State next Saturday to play UNLV in Henderson as part of the Jack Jones Hoopfest.
