LOS ANGELES - "Right place, right time," was what graduate transfer Ryan Kingsford said about his game-winning goal in LMU's 1-0 victory over James Madison on Saturday night in the third round of the NCAA Tournament. Â
Â
The Lions move on to  face No. 5 West Virginia on Saturday, December 2 at 11:00 a.m. (PT).Â
Â
The Lions faced a barrage of offense in the first 20 minutes of the match, but with some strong clearances and a couple of Massimo Oedekoven Pomponi saves, the Lions survived unscathed.Â
Â
They eventually found their footing in the match, and in the 20
th minute, Tyger Smalls had his first attempt. Â
Â
Steven Anderson had a chance in the 31st minute after a bouncing ball sat up nicely for him. He tried to volley and blasted the ball well wide. Â
Â
The teams went into the locker room knotted at zero, but the Lions came out on the front foot after the restart. Â
Â
Kingsford had a wild effort that forced a tough save from the Dukes goalkeeper. Anderson whipped a cross into the top of the 6-yard box. A JMU defender cleared the ball right off of Kingsford's thigh, forcing a save from the keeper.Â
Â
Kingsford finally got his breakthrough in the 67th minute. Â
Â
"It was probably the best forward play we have performed all season," said a grinning Kingsford. Â
Â
Jovan Prado took the ball up the sideline after a nifty flick from Anderson. He raced forward towards the end line and floated a ball to the back post. Smalls volleyed the ball across the face of goal, right into the path of the waiting Kingsford. Kingsford volleyed in for his fifth goal of the season and second of this NCAA Tournament. Â
Â
The Lions did what they do best and defended for the remaining 20-plus minutes to see the clean sheet through. Â
Â
With the victory, the Lions have extended their most successful postseason run. Â
Â
The Lions will travel to Morgantown, W. Va. to face the Mountaineers with a spot in the 2023 NCAA College Cup at stake. The match is set for a 11:00 a.m. (PT) start and will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Â
