LOS ANGELES – LMU is set to host a third-round match of the 2023 NCAA Men's Soccer Tournament on Saturday, November 26 as the Lions host James Madison. The match will begin at 7:00 p.m. (PT).
As was the case with Thursday's match against UC Irvine, all current LMU students with a valid OneCard will be admitted free of charge.
The Lions are coming off a 1-0 victory over No. 13 UCLA on Sunday evening.
Tyger Smalls scored the lone goal for the Lions, his third of the tournament and second consecutive game-winner.
Massimo Oedekoven Pomponi also impressed in the pair of matches with 13 total saves, including seven against the Bruins. An impressive double save in the 82
nd minute kept the Bruins off the scoreboard and led to his seventh clean sheet of the campaign.
This is the first time in school history that the Lions have made it into the round of 16.
JMU upset No. 4 Georgetown on Saturday morning to earn the trip to Los Angeles.
