LOS ANGELES – LMU softball scored in the first inning for the second-straight day of the NCAA Softball Los Angeles Regional, and kept the game tied through five before UCLA put five runs on the board in the fifth inning to take the game, 6-1.

Jenna Perez worked herself out of allowing a one-out single in the top of the first inning,
Megan Dedrick launched a home run ball over the left field line wall to give LMU the game's first run.

UCLA used their third walk of the second inning to bring home the tying run. LMU's defense made a few key plays to eliminate further damage and get the Lions out of the inning.

The score line remained the same through five innings as neither team were able to bring the go-ahead runner across the plate. In the top of the sixth inning, UCLA strung together five runs on five hits to push ahead 6-0. The Bruins added a run in the top of the seventh on a throwing error.

LMU will play either Ole Miss or Grand Canyon in the night cap Saturday at 7:00 PM back at Easton Stadium.
