LOS ANGELES- The Loyola Marymount University softball team will travel to Fullerton, Calif. for a 5-game series at the Judi Garman Classic. The Lions are currently hold an 8-8 overall record after finishing 3-2 in the 2022 Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic.

LMU's run in the tournament included a 3-0 winning streak, beating Iowa State, Southern Utah, and UC Riverside.

Morgan DeBord was a key player this week once again, finishing with eight hits, three home runs, and a .353 batting average. DeBord also earned West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for the second consecutive week.Â

Jenna Perez pitched lights out in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic. collecting 27 total strikeouts and only allowing 3 runs in 16.0 innings pitched the entire weekend. She recorded a 0.88 ERA and earned one win and one save. Perez earned WCC Pitcher of the Week honors.
The first game will be on Thursday, Mar. 3 against the Cal Poly Mustangs at 3:30 pm PST, followed by another game against the Kansas Jayhawks at 6:00 p.m.

The Lions will play again on Friday, Mar. 4 against Texas A&M at 2:30 p.m. PST. The final two games will be played on Saturday, Mar. 5 against Fresno State Bulldogs at 9:30 a.m. PST and No. 22 ranked Arizona State Sun Devils at 5:30 p.m.

The Cal Poly Mustangs softball team has a record of 0-10. The last meeting between the Lions and the Mustangs was Feb.12, Lions winning, 3-2.

The Kansas Jayhawks softball team is currently 7-6 on the season, never playing the Lions before in school history.

The Texas A&M Aggies hold an 12-2 record. This will also be the first time these two teams have met in school history.

The Fresno State Bulldogs softball team has a record of 1-12. In their last meeting on March 6, 2021, the Lions took a tough loss, 10-2.

The No.22 ranked Arizona State Sun Devils softball team is currently 9-4 on the young season. The two teams have never met in school history, but will be a true test for the Lions.
