Los Angeles, Calif.- The LMU Women's Basketball team (7-11, 2-6) has been impressive over the past week, even in a loss to Pepperdine, the team they will host in a West Coast Conference rematch on Thursday at Gersten Pavilion.
If you were watching, the last meeting between the two teams went down to the wire as the Waves pulled away with just seconds remaining.
It will be exciting to see them battle again after the Lions two-game winning streak to finish off last week.
Ariel Johnson has sparked a special presence for the Lions offense, scoring a season high 30 points against Saint Mary's, while also dropping 23 the game prior at Pacific.
Nicole Rodriguez has also been lights out, as she shot 100% from the field and perimeter last Tuesday at Pepperdine, while also posting 5 for 9 the next game versus Pacific.
Jasmine Jones has shown great leadership qualities in the past week after missing several games, helping Lions in overcome many obstacles.
Khari Clark and
Alexis Mark have been stepping up big time on defense and in the paint, as the team held has collectively played well on both sides of the ball.
The Lions will look to continue their winning streak, which will push them to 3-6 in the conference. Just a week ago, they went from 0-6 searching for their first victory to now creating a buzz in the WCC. This will be a battle at Gersten on Thursday, as both teams seek to gain leverage in conference play.

The Lions are shooting a hot 53% from the field against Saint Mary's and 50% from the perimeter, posting one of their memorable performances this season.
The Waves are coming off their second conference win on Monday against Saint Mary's in OT, after falling to Gonzaga 54-66 the game prior. Their only other win comes from the first match with LMU.
It will be the second matchup between the two programs and a great conference game, as they are both searching for win 3. The Lions aim to continue their momentum from the past few games and capitalize on clutch play.
